Boris Hosts Us At Bethlehem

Bethlehem?  It’s our partner congregation in New Orleans.

Boris?  He’s a homeowner across the street from Bethlehem.

His home?  Needs a lot of work.

But…first, today, we worked at Bethlehem itself.

Marlene and Sheila outdid themselves readying gardens for planting and getting rid of plants killed in recent freezes.

Bob and John got out the ladders and did extensive caulking to try to stop a series of leaks over windows.

Meanwhile, another crew was working at Boris’ place.  Then, the long-awaited dumpster arrived!

That makes tomorrow’s project a “go.”  There’s a day’s worth of flood and construction debris to haul out of Boris’ house.

When we got back tonight, it was time for the annual Monday night meal at camp.  Red beans, rice, and sausage.

We’re having a good time hanging out with our Cross partners.  Thanks to Tom Jackson for his two cents worth on tonight’s post.

Now, they’re trying to turn the lights out on us.  Time to take the evening conversations underground and for tonight’s blog to end. Sorry, I forgot to take to pictures today.  Tomorrow will be pics!

    Hi All,

Sounds like you have been keeping busy! And hey, caulking is right up your alley, Bob and John….thankfully, the kitchen ceiling is still dry here! Marlene and Sheila, hopefully, you’ve been enjoying your work in the garden…..

This morning, we received a light snowfall…just enough to already cause a number of accidents and rollovers throughout the area. Haven’t heard whether the groundhog has seen his shadow or not, but my bet is that we’ll be having 6 more weeks of winter! AND SNOW!

    Have a good day! Sherrie
